Le Manotel Rurutu is located on the mountain side in Peva. The pension offers six traditional, large bungalows which are nestled in a beautiful garden replete with rare species of flora. Just across from the pension, a white sand beach is available for those wishing to lounge in the sun. Le Manotel is renowned for its table d’hôte. Hélène, the hostess, will leave you satiated with her delicious, locally sourced products. And don’t miss the island tour of Rurutu with Yves, Helen’s husband. He will share his extensive knowledge of history, geology, archaeology, wildlife, legends and tradition, and everyday life. During the whale season, humpback whales visit Rurutu during their yearly migration from Antarctica, taking advantage of the serene lagoons and lack of predators. The limpid waters around Rurutu offers spectacular encounters with these majestic mammals.

What you Should Know:
Book early! The high season for whale watching in Rurutu is July 15 – October 15th. Due to the limited number of flights and accommodations on the islands, we recommend booking at least 9-12 months in advance to be assured of accommodations during your stay.

The Garden Bungalow is situated in the luxuriant, tropical gardens of the pension. The Bungalow is elemental yet very comfortable. All accommodations include daily half board (continental breakfast and dinner).
