What’s New in Tahiti?

If you’re planning your honeymoon, vacation, or anniversary trip to the islands of Tahiti, get excited because there are some really awesome things happening throughout French Polynesia!  From new excursions to new ways to tie the knot, Tahiti now offers even more ways to enjoy paradise!

Marquesas Art Festival

From December 15-20, 2015, the island of Hiva Oa in the Marquesas will be playing host to the Marquesas Art Festival.  Organized every four years by the locals, this festival is a perfect way to celebrate Marquesan culture.  Showcasing local dance, music, sports, cuisine, tattoos, and art, this festival has brought together over 1800 participants from the Polynesian Triangle (Hawaii, New Zealand, and Easter Island).  For the 2015 event, Hotel Hanakee Pearl Lodge is offering travelers a 5 night all-inclusive package, including daily admissions to the festival sites, to help them make the most of the Marquesan Art Festival.  Book early, as space is limited!

Underwater Weddings

Looking for a unique way to say “I Do”?  Topdive has recently launched exclusive underwater weddings in Bora Bora!  Now you can exchange vows 4 meters beneath the pristine lagoon of French Polynesia’s most famous island.  Bask in the turquoise surroundings as you wed in a unique aquatic chapel wearing a white dive suit and an underwater helmet integrated with audio players.  Make it official by exchanging two mother of pearl wedding rings as your Polynesian officiant presides over your ceremony.

Moorea Day Tour with Moorea Beach Cafe

Looking to try a new excursion on Moorea?  This might be perfect for you!  This excursion includes a day tour of Moorea by Quad in which you can bask in the island’s lush beauty, magical mountains, and stunning views of the pristine lagoon.  Once you’ve built up your appetite, enjoy a fabulous three course lunch at the Moorea Beach Cafe, a chic restaurant with relaxing ambiance.  Aside from offering absolutely delicious food, the Moorea Beach Cafe provides fantastic service and an unbeatable view of the turquoise lagoon.

New Overwater Bungalows at the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort

Especially after our most recent trip to Bora Bora, we cannot stop talking about how much we love the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort.  Aside from offering Bora Bora’s best sunset views, incredible hospitality, and delicious food at the Iriatai restaurant, the Hilton now offers one more fantastic thing:  Newly renovated overwater bungalows!  The currently unnamed overwater bungalows feature:

  • Gleaming wood throughout
  • A modern design
  • A plush bed and spacious modern bathroom which face the lagoon
  • A larger terrace and deck
  • Catamaran-style nets over the water (for a unique way to relax and soak in your surroundings)
  • A sizable private plunge pool!

While the Hilton has only completed two of these marvelous overwater bungalows, we can expect to see the renovation of 8 more in the coming months.  If you are planning a visit to the Hilton Bora Bora Nui Resort, and appreciate a modern design aesthetic, we highly recommend these overwater bunaglows.

New Room Category at the Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa

If you’re traveling to Moorea and enjoy cooking your own meals, the Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa has a room you’ll love!  The folks at the Moorea Pearl have just unveiled the Duplex Room with Kitchen, which is great for traveling families or guests who prefer to cook their own meals.  Outfitted with flatware, plates, pans, and everything else you would need to prepare a meal, these rooms feature two spacious levels and a modern design aesthetic.
