We stayed at the Bora Bora St. Regis in February. While many resorts boast a first class rating, the St. Regis Bora Bora Resort is truly world class.
Prepare to be pampered from the moment you set foot on the property. The resort’s 83 villas look like Tiki huts from the outside, but are luxurious and well-appointed spacious guest estates complete with wireless Internet and 42-inch plasma TVs. Accommodations range from 1500 square feet for an over-water one bedroom villa to a magnificent 13,000 square feet for the one-of-a-kind Royal Estate, a three bedroom palace with a chef’s kitchen and its own private beach, spa and pool. Butler service is available for all guests for a personal wake-up call, coffee or tea service, garment pressing or even luggage packing and unpacking.
Among the St. Regis Bora-Bora’s many unique amenities is a 13,000-foot spa located on its own private island. In keeping with the laid-back vibe, you can elect to have your massage outside in a cabana on the beach, enjoy an indoor spa facial treatment or just relax in the steam, sauna or whirlpool.
The hotel’s restaurant, The Lagoon by Jean-Georges, offers local seafood in an upscale setting. If you prefer a more laid-back experience, try the off site eateries La Villa Mahana, Kaina Hut, Bloody Mary’s, and Le Matira. As an added incentive, the local restaurants provide a dinner shuttle that picks you up at 6 P.M. and returns at 9 P.M.
The resort is family friendly, offering a Kids Creativity Club that entertains children ages 5- 12 with hands-on crafts instruction and nature exploration and provides fee -based babysitting for children one year old and over.
When you’re ready for some activity after lying in the sun and unwinding, just hop off your villa’s deck for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the resort’s lagoon. There’s a swim-up bar on the premises. If you prefer more strenuous water activities, there are paddle boats and kayaks. If you want a land-based workout, beach cruiser bikes are available, complementary tennis courts are available to guests, and a fully equipped onsite gym features treadmills, elliptical trainers and free weights.
The 44 acre property features breathtaking scenery and a level of service worthy of royalty. For the ultimate luxury vacation in a secluded tropical paradise, the St Regis Bora-Bora is an experience you’ll never forget.
