On July 11th, 2010, a total solar eclipse will occur and be visible over much of the southern Pacific Ocean. In French Polynesia, the eclipse will only be visible on a few of the small islands in the Tuamotus including Hao and Tatakotu.
Due to the few accommodations on these islands, the best way to experience the solar eclipse is by cruise. The Aquatiki and Archipels Cruises are both offering special cruises to view the solar eclipse. Availability for these cruises is extremely limited, so if you’d like to go, make sure you book your trip as soon as possible.
